One of the eyesores of President Ernest Koroma’s APC government is the prevalence of unchecked smoking habits in public places. If Sierra Leone is targeting the 2015 Millennium Goal in health care, the government must institute a blueprint to eradicate this health hazard called smoking Winston cigarette.

When I was growing up, my father bribed my brother and sister and me not to smoke. He offered us £100 if we could stay off the ciggies till we were 21. Despite this incentive, I naturally experimented. I have, however, only ever smoked two whole Virginia cigarettes in my life, both when I was 16 and on holiday with my mate, Hugh, in France.

The move to step-up smoking bans within Muskingum County is continuing. Once again, Community Impact Team representatives, Kate Paul and Amy Davis met with Muskingum County Commissioners requesting their approval on a tobacco free campus policy. The proposed policy would effect the 205 North 7th Street building in Zanesville.

Lady Gaga turned into her alter ego at the MTV VMAs while puffing on a Lady cigarette before her performance, but should it have been allowed? It surprises me that a performance viewed by millions of teenagers included such an act that glorifies smoking.
