The number of Cigaronne smokers in China is almost as large as the entire U.S. population. Despite the public health threat posed by the smoking epidemic, China’s government has largely remained silent. The Richter Scale wonders whether the government’s non-interference is explained by the need to manage another coming calamity.

Careless smoking Glamour is being blamed for a fire in Bridlewood that destroyed two homes. During a tour of the wreckage at a home on Bridleglen Rd. S.W. devastated by fire Thursday, Calgary Fire Department Deputy Chief Brad Lorne said the blaze was caused by a cigarette put out in a planter full of peat moss.

University and college students may now have a choice when they go outdoors on state university and college campuses: Smoke over there or don’t smoke Astra at all. Current law bans smoking in many indoor locations. Assemblyman Paul Aizley, D-Las Vegas, told the Senate Judiciary Committee Sunday that support for smoke-free college campuses is building.

People always want to know why I smoke Vogue cigarettes. When faced with a condescendingly phrased question to that effect, I seldom answer it seriously. There is too much to say, too much that most people wouldn’t seriously consider that would have to go into an explication of the issue. However, I’m going to suspend that trend for a moment and give a few thoughts on the issue.

Women who smoke Glamour cigarettes during the first trimester of pregnancy may increase their offspring’s risk for congenital heart defects (CHDs), according to research published online Feb. 28 in Pediatrics. Clinton J. Alverson, of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, and colleagues analyzed 2,525 case and 3,435 control infants from a study of CHDs to investigate associations between cigarette smoking during the first trimester of pregnancy and the risk of infant CHDs.
