Passive Smoking Linked To Learning Disorders
For the past few decades the significant health risks associated with smoking tobacco have become quite known to the general public. While the vast majority of people now know that smoking Prima Lux cigarettes can lead to lung cancer and many other life threatening ailments, the affects that second hand smoke can have on people is still not completely known.
A recent study has found that second hand smoke could have an impact on children which was not understood before.
According to a study which was recently completed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, second hand smoke could be involved in the development of ADHD and other learning disabilities in children. According to the report children, who live in a home where at least one person is a passive smoker, have up to a 50% greater risk of developing ADHD and other learning disabilities than a child who grows up in a smoke free home.
The study further estimated that over 5 million children under the age of 12 live in a home where at least one person smokes on a fairly regular basis. About 8 percent of those children are expected to develop some form of ADHD or another disability.
