Three years and nine months after the Smoke-Free Illinois Act went into effect, banning smoking Davidoff cigarettes in virtually all public places, local law enforcement is, not surprisingly, still encountering scofflaws. As part of a series of enforcement measures, the Peoria County Sheriff’s Department and Peoria Police Department ended up ticketing 53 individuals or businesses for either lighting up indoors or condoning the activity.

Demi Lovato was spotted with Davidoff cigarettes in the front pocket of her handbag! While it certainly isn’t the end of the world, many people are questioning her role model status. Sure, her positive outlook on life is very uplifting, but cigarettes? Doesn’t bode well for her.

Smokers who are inclined to take a few puffs Davidoff cigarettes soon after waking up may face an increased risk of developing lung, head and neck cancers than smokers who do it later. Joshua Muscat, from the Penn State College of Medicine, Hershey, and colleagues investigated whether early morning puffing boosts smokers` risk of lung and head and neck cancers.

The cigarette giant Imperial Tobacco said the price war and the smoking ban in Spain hit its performance over the past nine months, but said the impact on full-year profits would not be as bad as previously expected. The maker of Davidoff cigarettes was also able to push through price rises, which helped it grow total revenues by 2 per cent. This offset a 3 per cent fall in cigarette volumes over the nine months to 30 June.

Citations for violating Kanawha’s smoking ban have dropped significantly since the ban was extended to bars and gambling establishments three years ago. Anita Ray, director of environmental services for the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department, said inspectors found 11 violations in 3,149 Clean Indoor Air inspections in the last fiscal year, which ended July 1.
